A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The Officers were installed into their respective stations on January 5, 1935. Students from Clovis High School performed for the large crowd. The new Master's slogan for the year was, "Be happy and make everyone you meet happy too!"
In the first stated meeting of the year a discussion was had and a motion carried to pay off the mortgage that was on the building. In April, the stated meeting was shortened due to the Masonic Entertainment evening at Clovis High School. This was in conjunction with Public Schools week.
In May there was discussion about giving the newly made Master Mason's their own trowels, but it doesn't say if anything was done about it. In October there was a problem with the lot just west of the Lodge, it appears someone had been dumping on the lot thinking that the Lodge owned it, but it turned out that it was owned by another fellow and the Lodge agreed to have the lot cleaned and to have a trash receptacle placed there in the future.
On October 31, 1935 a 25 year celebration was had at the Lodge, with over 100 guests. The anniversary cake was placed in the middle of all of these people and it was decorated with red, white and blue candles numbering 25. After refreshment, all were invited into the Lodge room and they watched a "Motion Picture" (now commonly referred to as a movie). Next came a presentation to all of the Past Master's, not as a payment, but as a token of friendship and brotherly love, for all of their hard work and their labors for the Lodge.
In December the Secretaries salary was decreased to $15.00 per month due to the lack of work being required of the Secretary due to the slow down of degrees.
On July 26, 1979 Bro. George Edward Talbert passed away in Fresno. Bro. Talbert had long been a very active member and will be missed by Clovis Lodge for his many years of precious service.
